Run the following command to verify rsyslog is installed:

# dpkg-query -W -f='${binary:Package}\t${Status}\t${db:Status-Status}\n' rsyslog
rsyslog install ok installed installed

Remediation

Run the following command to install rsyslog:

# apt install rsyslog
